West Leeds Eagle's Boy's under 16's hope to say goodbye on positive note

This weekend, on Sunday 21 October, the boy's of the West Leeds Eagle's under 16's play as a team for the last time as a junior and youth team, and all involved would like to make it as memorable occasion as possible for the final game against Bradford side Queensbury arlfc.

It will be quite an emotional time for many who have followed the boys over the years, many of whom began their rugby in the mini's age groups. Everyone who has either followed, or been involved with the side have seen both good, and bad times, over the year's.

The team's coach, Andy Smith, wrote recently "I honestly can’t believe I am saying this but after 5 years of coaching (the) guys, this is it, the journey is coming to an end."

It is hoped that a good crowd will turn up to support the boys for what is their final game as a group of young men. So if you are free, we would love you to join us and support the lads. All are welcome, past and present, so if you have ever been involved or supported the lads we would love to see you all this Sunday.

Sunday's two adversaries, West Leeds Eagles and Queensbury, have enjoyed some great bsattles against each other over the years, and recently, the two sides met during another emotional occasion, at Queensbury . That day, the two clubs paid their respects to Queensbury's Harry Sykes, who, sadly. had recently passed away. Sunday, will be another emotional occasion for many, especially the coach's, management, parents and supporters of West Leeds as they say their goodbyes to a generation of players who have given their all to the game and provided their followers with many happy, and perhaps some frustrating, hours of rugby league football.

Some of the boy's will be moving up to play open age rugby league for the club, and it is hoped they will enjoy similar success for some years to come. Thank you for all your support, from sponsors, parents and supporters, and we hope you will continue to follow the boy's progress in the year's to come. We certainly look forward to meeting up with you all at these games. Enjoy today's game, and thank you for supporting the team.
