Tiffany Marks home debut with hat trick West Leeds 40-0 East leeds

The Open Age women returned to action on Sunday (11 November), in their first home Premier Division fixture of the new campaign.

A number of new faces, alongside some instantly recognisable ones were on show for the home crowd in a side that has got off to a promising start under new coach Andy Smith.

As he mentions in a posting shortly after the game “Efforts today, like the chase back from Roslind Lloyd in the first 5 minutes of the game, and our goal line defence towards the back end of the first half is the reason our points against stands at only 6 points”.

That 'effort' by Ros in the first five minutes was a brilliant piece of defending. The opposition forward had escaped the tackles of a number of Eagle's players and was though on their left wing to score a certain try. Then came Ros, who made a tremendous run to catch the player and bring her down to save the try. From then on, the Eagle's were the dominant side.

Some well worked tries followed from Ellena Powell, Tiffany Turner, Roslind Lloyd, Courtney Petruska, Chelsea-Leigh Hall and captain Kirsty Mills. Jackie Sedgwick converted two of those tries.
